San Marcos is located forty miles north of San Diego, CA--about a half hour drive with cooperative traffic conditions. Rob attended Cal State San Marcos, located just a few minutes from Lake San Marcos. Carlsbad and Escondido are both neighboring areas. San Marcos is a quickly growing city which provides plenty of restaurants, hotels, and other services.

Located on the grounds of Lake San Marcos Country Club, this hotel is an ideal place to stay while attending our wedding. It is within walking distance of both the ceremony and reception locations. Thirty rooms have been blocked off for July 23rd and 24th, and we can hold more rooms if demand increases. The block will be released on June 23rd, 2004. The sooner you reserve your room, the better.

The San Diego Wild Animal Park
     A remarkable animal park, with hundreds of species in a cage-free environment. The Wild Animal park does amazing work on behalf of endangered species and they deserve support. If you have the time, we highly recommend a visit to the Wild Animal Park. Located about twenty minutes from San Marcos. Special "Photo Expeditions" available with advance reservation.

The World Famous San Diego Zoo
     One of the best zoos around! Enjoy Night-Time Zoo during the summer months. Located near Balboa Park, in downtown San Diego, thirty or forty minutes from San Marcos.

Sea World: San Diego
     The famous adventure park. New rides opening in 2004. Meet Shamu and learn about marine ecosystems while viewing various specious from around the world. Located near Point Loma, about a half-hour from San Marcos.

Wineries of Temecula Valley
     Eighteen wineries within miles of each other offer tasting and occassional tours. Located along Rancho California Road, visitors can literally hop from one winery to the other. Think about taking a cab or limo--or suckering someone into being designated driver--if you're going to do this right! Located about forty minutes North of San Marcos.

Old Town Trolley Tours
    $25 day tours of the downtown area. With 8 stops, these tours allow patrons to visit each location at leisure: Old Town, Cruise Ship Terminal, Seaport Village, Marriott Marina, Horton Plaza, Coronado Island, San Diego Zoo, and Balboa Park.

Ghost and Gravestones Tours
     Explore haunted Old Town and San Diego's Gaslamp district. Tour includes a visit to the William Heath Davis house, and the Whaley House--a federally recognized haunted location!
