Stacey is one of Kate's oldest friends, and certainly a most treasured one. The two share a connection that is quite rare. Together they have shared good times and bad, and Stacey has been a remarkable support for Kate throughout her life. Her striking intelligence is complimented by wisdom, tolerance, and an appreciation of music and art. Both Kate and Rob feel a great deal of love for Stacey.


     Kathy and Kate met in high school where they became close friends. Kathy's passion for life and constant struggle over adversity meant some interesting adventures and great conversations. Kathy has been an integral part of the wedding planning process, and a support system for Kate and Rob as they have pieced together the details of the event. 


     Appropriately enough Kate met Jamie on the soccer field, trying out for Jamie's team which was preparing to leave for England. Luckily for the two of them Jamie was able to look past Kate's dorky facade to let them start a long and rewarding friendship. A friendship which has taken them to England and Amsterdam to do that which brought them together, play soccer.


     Nia, Kathy, and Kate were virtually inseperable in High School. Nia's love for music and cooking made for some lasting memories. Most of which involved Nia and Kate driving around in Nia's old Honda singing at the tops of their lungs while devouring one of Nia's latest culinary creations. While their friendship has evolved over the last few years Nia 's warm heart and unusual sense of humor has secured her a place in Kate's heart.
   


     Phil is Rob's brother-in-law. They got to know each other well when Rob lived with Jenny (his sister) and Phil during the nineties in the Bay Area of California, and for a period in Laurel Maryland. Rob has a lot of respect for Phil and has always enjoyed his honest personality and his friendly attitude.


     Jim and Rob attended the same high school in Fairfax, VA--but they really got to know each other at Virginia Tech. Jim knows a ton about cars and together they've had some fun adventures. Jim is one of the nicest guys around--but he's no push over (especially if you're racing him!).


     Lyle was the founder, majority song-writer and lead guitarist of Idiosyncrasy, the high school band of which Rob was the lead singer for a time. Lyle is a musical genius, a computer guru, and one of Rob's oldest friends.
